Who We Are

Femme is New England's first modern lesbian bar — born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 2023 and created for the lesbians, the girls, the gays, and the they's.

We didn't open a bar. We built a home.

While Femme was built by lesbians, it is a queer human space where the whole community can gather safely and feel like they belong. We are a Women, Lesbian, and Minority-owned business — committed to being a safe space for all women and an affirming, welcoming environment for the entire LGBTQ+ community. We embrace everyone who comes through our doors with love and respect.

Herstory

The idea for Femme was born during COVID, when Julie and Danielle found themselves stuck at home, scrolling through lesbian TikTok, and learning just how few lesbian bars remained in America. They did their research, took the leap, and the rest is Herstory.

Femme opened its doors in March 2023 as the only lesbian bar in New England — and one of fewer than 35 in the entire United States. Since then, we've sold out merch five times, packed the house for drag brunch, built a community that spans all of New England, and become something bigger than either of us imagined.
